January, February and March 2015 is proving to be a busy quarter of the year for Odessos Shipyard, our three docks were full. We carried out totally 17 major repairs and several minors repair jobs. Our efforts were mainly aimed at the following works:
- standard dry dock works – washing, blasting, hull painting, taking measurements on the propeller-rudder system, including tail shaft removal / refitting and simplex seals renewal, installation of MEWIS duct
- cargo tanks treatment – HP water washing, full blasting SA2,5, 3 coats International paint applying
- cargo holds, grain bulkheads and hatch covers treatment – HP water washing, blasting and painting
- repair of cavitated areas of the propeller and balancing
- successful salt test
- removal of deck crane tower and replacement of slewing bearing
- major repair of diesel generators, including crankshaft removal and polishing
- replacement of a generator engine with modification of piping and electric systems, access and accessory works
- ballast water tanks – steel work, blasting and painting
- firefighting, life boat and safety equipment upgrading
- pumps, diesel engines and air compressor repairs
- conduction of new stainless 12” stern discharge line including aft manifold crane, platforms and foam gun and pipeline pasivation
- and many others mechanical, electrical, pipe, steel and carpenters works
All the projects were completed on time and kept to the works schedule within the budget.
